Position: Windows Administrator

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Duration: 6 Months+

Skills & Job Requirements:

·         Installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows 2003, 2008 servers, operating system, storage and backup equipment.

·         Monitoring servers using Microsoft Operations Manager for high availability and addressing alert events

·         Maintaining hardware health, troubleshooting and vendor coordination when required

·         Install, configure and support of Microsoft Cluster server, network load balancing server

·         Provide Net Backup support as required to ensure that all server and storage are backed up per standards. Backup restoration support

·         Develop and maintain documentation on server, storage and backup environment

·         Install and maintain patches and antivirus software as required to meet standards

·         Interface with various vendors and support groups on standards, Best Known Methods and the resolution of problematic issues.

·         Troubleshoot and fix issues with windows jobs that were created with VB script.

·         Assist in the resolution APPS LAB application issues

·         Support server projects as directed in support of the local campus environment

Customer requirement:

·         Must have 4+ years of experience in Microsoft 20003, 2008 enterprise environment server support

·         Must have hands-on experience in HP Server hardware installation and troubleshooting

·         Experience in windows cluster and network load balancing

·         Experience in using Net Backup Client for initiating manual backup and restoration on request

·         VB/WMI scripting knowledge is mandatory requirement for this position

·         Ability to coordinate with different support teams and vendors

·         Excellent verbal and communication skills with high customer orientation

·         Excellent problem solving skills for technical and software related issues

·         Ability to work independently while strictly following technical specifications

·         Must be able to take ownership of technical challenges/issues and research the web, books, forums, technical trade resources, etc.

·         Excellent attention to detail

Key skills required: (in the order of priority)

·         Windows 2003/2008 Server administration

·         HP Server Hardware installation and troubleshooting

·         VB Scripting knowledge

Skills & Job Requirements:

Messaging and Interfacing (L2)-Programmer: 

·         Should be able to write programs independently.

·         Should be having good knowledge in one or more of Messaging and Interfacing technologies like Java Mail, JCA, JMS, JNI etc and able debug and solve applications.

·         Understanding Data request and response queue.

·         Should be able to implement application handling synchronous and asynchronous request and response.

·         JMS: Able to implement applications for communicating between J2EE servers.

·         Should know how to write and execute unit test cases

J2EE (L4)

·         Should be able to architect a solution in this technology area fora given problem statement.

·         In depth knowledge of multitier architecture.

·         Should be able to design and architect solution around J2EE,

·         should be well versed with stacking and layering of architecture modeling,

·         should be conver sent with decsion making in terms of technology comparison with J2EE technologies

·         Should be able to understand customer business requirements and propose optimal solutions around J2EE technologies focusing on simplifications, virtualization, aggregation and automation.

Java Transaction Management (L1)-JTA: 

·         Should be aware of fundamentals on JTA, Bean managed and Container managed user transactions, Transaction manager, XA resource, JTS – transaction manager, interface & exceptions.

·         Good knowledge of X/Open XA Architecture, JTA Implementation of the X/Open XA architecture, Java Transaction APIs, User Transaction Support in EJB server, User Transaction support in JNDI, J2SE.Should understand unit testing ( and able to execute unit test cases.

Web Services (L3)-Tech. Lead: 

·         Should be able to Design and Architect Web Services, Interoperability between J2EE and .Net.

·         Should be able to Design and Architect WS complying with WS-I standards

J2EE (L3)

·         Should be able to design, develop, debug programs independently and mentor others.

·         Good understanding of Java EE 5 platform, Annotations, JPA, Dependency injection, EJB 3.0, Web services, JSF 1.2, JSP2.1, Servlet 2.5, JSTL 1.2 and the simpler packaging rules.

·         Aware of JMX, JTA. Usage of right Design Patterns, proper user, session managements,

·         Should also be conver sent with developing application with various presentation and persistence models, Performance optimizations, Caching.

·         Should be able to design using J2EE technologies.
