Role & Responsibilities	Database Configuration & Administration §  Internal parameter configurations §  Backup/recovery configurations §  HA configuration implementation (Instance Load-balancing, cluster maintenance) §  Monitoring tool installation and configuration §  Database startup/shutdown §  Database moves (Host to Host) §  Database copies/Refresh (Prod to Dev, QA) §  Database Refresh (Partial) §  Database upgrades-minor §  Implementation Planning §  Patch Rollout §  Replication setup and troubleshooting Security §  Database auditing (compliance reports) §  SOX Compliance Event and Fault Management §  Coordinate with database vendors for resolution §  Support application support/development teams Capacity management §  Metrics Collection Design §  Trend Analysis and recommendation §  Database/SGA sizing §  Capacity Planning Problem management §  Trend Analysis and recommendation Database Maintenance / Housekeeping §  Database reorganization planning Performance Tuning §  DB Performance Monitor/Tuning reports §  Parameter tuning §  I/O tuning Advanced DBA Activities §  Security Implementation §  Administer 3rd Party DBA Tools
Required Candidate Profile (Job Requirements/Descriptions) [Hint: - Mandatory to specify What Domains/technology areas/skills/projects the candidate should have worked on. What Knowledge of job, Market/Industry knowledge he must possess. Specify the required skill levels he must possess w.r.t Communication, Team Management, Business Development. Etc. Describe in detail what his current role should have been in his current organization.]	§  Primarily role is supporting the production and development Oracle databases §  Provide 24 x7 support and on call support for databases §  Provide inputs for capacity management §  Should support other Non-Oracle database on need basis §  Monitor and troubleshoot database issues
Technical Skills Required (only for technical hires) [Include languages, OS, Platform skills required]	Key skills required: (in the order of priority) §  Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle x.*  and MS SQL databases on UNIX and NT servers §  Apply patches and upgrades for Oracle §  Physical Data modeling §  Database refresh, re-org, Backup using RMAN and 3rd Party Tools. §  Oracle Grid Control §  Provides troubleshooting support for potential data issues.   §  Analyzes the issue to determine the root cause and develop solutions or escalate to the appropriate team/stakeholders. §  Backup/restore §  Datagaurd, Stats pack, TK Prof §  Database and Application tuning and performance monitoring. §  RAC – Oracle 9i or 10 G §  Supporting application team §  Handling Oracle databases as a DBA on Unix/NT environments §  Monitoring user connections/performance §  UNIX knowledge is preferred. §  Experience in Standby Database §  Experience in RMAN backup §  Experience in Migration/Upgrades/Patch implementation in databases
Specific Domain/Technical/Functional skills Could be one of the following -          Wireless, Datacom, Optical Networks, Intelligent Networks, VoIP, Switching Systems -          Telecom Service Provider Applications -          WAP Gateway, Bluetooth Solutions, VLSI/ System Design, OS / Platform Technologies -          B2B/ B2C/Mobile commerce/ Web Security, CRM/SCM/ ERP, Datawarehousing, Client Server/Mainframe -          IT Infrastructure -          Sales & Marketing, HR/Recruitment, Quality /Administration -          Others	§  Should be able to support Oracle database §  Should have experience on ITIL based delivery, Preferably with ITIL Foundation Certification. §  Might need to work on additional skills –trained on the job §  Non prod databases would mean dev, test, QA, SI, PoC. §  Oracle 11g §  Oracle RAC 11.2.x §  OEM GC 11.x
