Skills
& Job Requirements:
·
Installation, configuration
and maintenance of Windows 2003, 2008 servers, operating system, storage and
backup equipment.
·
Monitoring servers using
Microsoft Operations Manager for high availability and addressing alert events
·
Maintaining hardware health,
troubleshooting and vendor coordination when required
·
Install, configure and
support of Microsoft Cluster server, network load balancing server
·
Provide Net Backup support
as required to ensure that all server and storage are backed up per standards.
Backup restoration support
·
Develop and maintain
documentation on server, storage and backup environment
·
Install and maintain patches
and antivirus software as required to meet standards
·
Interface with various
vendors and support groups on standards, Best Known Methods and the resolution
of problematic issues.
·
Troubleshoot and fix issues
with windows jobs that were created with VB script.
·
Assist in the resolution
APPS LAB application issues
·
Support server projects as
directed in support of the local campus environment
Customer
requirement:
·
Must have 4+ years of
experience in Microsoft 20003, 2008 enterprise environment server support
·
Must have hands-on
experience in HP Server hardware installation and troubleshooting
·
Experience in windows
cluster and network load balancing
·
Experience in using Net
Backup Client for initiating manual backup and restoration on request
·
VB/WMI scripting knowledge is mandatory requirement
for this position
·
Ability to coordinate with
different support teams and vendors
·
Excellent verbal and
communication skills with high customer orientation
·
Excellent problem solving
skills for technical and software related issues
·
Ability to work
independently while strictly following technical specifications
·
Must be able to take
ownership of technical challenges/issues and research the web, books, forums,
technical trade resources, etc.
·
Excellent attention to
detail
