Position: Windows admin with VMware

Location: Santa Clara

Duration: 3+ Months contract

Skills & Job Requirements:

·         The VMware experience is the highest priority.

·         This position reports to the SV Manager.

·         Direction and guidance to be provided by senior engineers on the team.

·         Responsibilities include the following: Manage the physical and virtual lab infrastructure; maintain inventory; interface to facilities to maintain A/C, power and space; interface to IT and central labs to meet audits and other internal requests; assist with purchasing; and direct support of R&D requests.

Requirements for position functions Skills, experience, other.

·         Strong experience with VMware [preferably 5.0/5.1]; Hitachi SANs, Xsigo

·         Expertise with Linux & Windows administration and general network management

·         Certification or training – Microsoft; email, SMS

·         Experience with SIP, Telephony [AV, Nortel]

·         Ability to support and debug physical hardware issues

Position: Windows Administrator

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Duration: 6 Months+

Skills & Job Requirements:

·         Installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows 2003, 2008 servers, operating system, storage and backup equipment.

·         Monitoring servers using Microsoft Operations Manager for high availability and addressing alert events

·         Maintaining hardware health, troubleshooting and vendor coordination when required

·         Install, configure and support of Microsoft Cluster server, network load balancing server

·         Provide Net Backup support as required to ensure that all server and storage are backed up per standards. Backup restoration support

·         Develop and maintain documentation on server, storage and backup environment

·         Install and maintain patches and antivirus software as required to meet standards

·         Interface with various vendors and support groups on standards, Best Known Methods and the resolution of problematic issues.

·         Troubleshoot and fix issues with windows jobs that were created with VB script.

·         Assist in the resolution APPS LAB application issues

·         Support server projects as directed in support of the local campus environment

Customer requirement:

·         Must have 4+ years of experience in Microsoft 20003, 2008 enterprise environment server support

·         Must have hands-on experience in HP Server hardware installation and troubleshooting

·         Experience in windows cluster and network load balancing

·         Experience in using Net Backup Client for initiating manual backup and restoration on request

·         VB/WMI scripting knowledge is mandatory requirement for this position

·         Ability to coordinate with different support teams and vendors

·         Excellent verbal and communication skills with high customer orientation

·         Excellent problem solving skills for technical and software related issues

·         Ability to work independently while strictly following technical specifications

·         Must be able to take ownership of technical challenges/issues and research the web, books, forums, technical trade resources, etc.

·         Excellent attention to detail

Key skills required: (in the order of priority)

·         Windows 2003/2008 Server administration

·         HP Server Hardware installation and troubleshooting

·         VB Scripting knowledge

·         Our client currently employs a Windows HPC Cluster running Windows HPC Server 2008.

·         HPC administrator is required to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot issues that arise with the HPC Application itself as well as any hardware issues.

·         It leverages current technology and is utilized by several business groups.

Additional Requirements

·         Experience with Windows HPC Server 2008 and Windows Compute Cluster 2003 Edition Experience with Infiniband and how it works Panasas Storage and Backups.

·         Experience with Active Directory and permissions

·         Experience with internal routing and NATing

·         Experience using Windows Deployment Services with Windows HPC Server

·         Experience with Automated Deployment Services
